In the mid 1930’s Hopping up cars was fast becoming a new trend for youngsters nationwide. Southern California was the hot bed of it all due to its close relationship to the dry lakes. People joined together to form clubs and hold events on the lakes to find out what their car could do, flat out! One of the original clubs to be formed was the Sierra Madre Night Flyers. In January of 1939 some members from East Pasadena and Sierra Madre formed a club to be known as the FLYERS.

The FLYERS club lasted until 1946 when a need grew to differentiate themselves from all of the jalopy “hot rods” on the streets. So in 1946 the name was changed to the Pasadena Roadster Club.

The Flyers name has been out of use until recently being revived as a modern day historic car club.
